
1 Form two squares next to each other of different colours.

2 Hit Ctrl+Y to view the outline. Hit Ctrl+Y again to change back to Preview. Choose both squares. Press Shft+Alt and drag right. Make sure to get the boxes aligned exactly. Release the mouse button and press Ctrl+D several times. Press Ctrl+- to zoom out without losing the capacity to continue pressing Ctrl+D to duplicate the squares.

Hit Ctrl+Y again to change back to Preview. Press Shft+Alt and drag vertically.

4 Using the Rotate tool by double clicking on it. Set the Angle to 180.
5 Choose all of the squares. Press Shft+Alt and drag vertically. Set in place directly below the current squares. Press Ctrl+D to duplicate. Do this several times. Choose all the squares and press Shft+Alt and drag to duplicate. Set that to the side.
6 Choose all the squares except the duplicated ones. Select Warp Options and choose Arc Upper. Set Bend at 100 percent. You can at this point press Ctrl+Z to undo or if you want to save this pattern, select the squares that were set aside.


7 Choose Warp Options and select Twist. Set to Horizontal, Bend 44, Distortion Horizontal -52 and Vertical -35. Now we have a totally new pattern.
